They represent your CRONA tokens that are locked for voting. The longer you lock your CRONA tokens, the more voting power you have, and you will get a higher boost (mining rewards). * Every 1 CRONA locked for four years is equal to 1 veCRONA. * You can vote lock 1,000 CRONA for a year to have a 250 veCRONA weight. * The number of veCRONA you will receive depends on how long you lock your CRONA for. * Minimum lock time is one week. * Maximum lock time is four years. * Your veCRONA weight gradually decreases as your escrowed tokens approach their lock expiry. ![](/files/ojt3oh6XlDtypm2AsU9W) #### Farm Boost * User holding veCRONA get boosted farming rewards. * Farmers that hold veCRONA can receive a max boost of up to 2.5x(Locked 4 years) in farming rewards. For example, a farmer, with no veCRONA, could farm CRO-CRONA for 100% APR. Token burning is usually performed by the development team behind a particular cryptocurrency asset. It can be done in several ways, most commonly by sending the coins to a so-called “eater address” or “dead address”. Its current balance is publicly visible on the blockchain, but access to its contents is not available to anyone. ### Why Is Token Burning Important? There are several benefits of a coin burn and they are as follows: **Increase in the value of the token** This is probably the most well-known benefit of a coin burn. Coin burn reduces the overall circulation of the token, thereby the overall supply decreases. It might potentially result in the increase of the value of the token. The constant burning of the coin helps to keep a steady value. **A steady value of the token** Constant token burning helps to keep a steady value of the token and it also bets for a long-term price increase. Coin burn can potentially make the holder’s token more valuable than it was before the burn. ### How Does Token Burning At CronaSwap Work? The practice of burning may involve the project’s developers buying tokens back from the market or burning parts of the supply already available to them. Here, at CronaSwap, there are two deflationary mechanisms in place. 1. 0.05% of the trading fees are used for buying the CRONA tokens back from the market and burning them. 2. One nuance about CronaSwap's farms that some of you may have noticed is that we calculate emissions based on CRONA per second, rather than per block like the farms on Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum do. On Cronos, the block times are proportional to the transaction activity on the block. As such, the block times can vary from as low as 4.9 seconds to as high as 5.9+ seconds back.
